May 15, 2023 The window to open a new short-term rental in Plano is officially closed. An interim ban began Monday after the Plano City Council, in a joint meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission on May 8, voted to adopt an ordinance that forbids new STRs from May 15, 2023, to May 15, 2024. Plano has an enforcement plan in place, and city officials will discuss a registration ordinance at a June 26 City Council meeting.
