Get to know Ann...
I am Ann Warren and I am running for Vice President (Position 1) for the WNA Board. I live at 1201 Sycamore Drive with my husband Scott and our daughter Hannah. We moved to Woodgate in 2018 after looking at over 30 homes! We needed a home that would give us the room to care for Scott’s mother as well as be conducive to a growing teenager – the minute I walked into 1201 – I knew she was for us!
Once we moved in, it didn’t take long for us to be welcomed into the neighborhood. Shortly after that, Scott and I were both involved with the Board and on Committees. Scott served as the VP for a bit while I served on the Events Committee, as well as being our Block Trustee.
Who Am I?
Aside from being a wife, mother, and Mimi. I have lived and worked in Carrollton for the past 30yrs. I have worked at Creekview High School as a secretary for the past 25 years. If you ever heard or watched the Creekview Parade – then you saw me in action. I have been the Parade Coordinator for many years, so I know what it looks like to put together events and work with officials, like the Chief of Police and the City of Carrollton. But aside from that, I have also owned a couple of small business.
Why Am I Running and Where do I Stand?
I am running for 1st Vice President - because as Scott puts it, “I just can’t help myself.” I love community events and think it is important for a neighborhood to thrive. If neighbors do not know each other or engage, the neighborhood dies. But I’m not just about community events, I am also about the safety of Woodgate:
What I care about:
-
Short Term Rentals and the possible crime they can bring
-
Leadership & Communication
-
Crime Watch
-
Community Events
-
Balancing the Budget and getting more members to join WNA
-
Transparency
If any of these topics are important to you as they are to me - then I would love your vote on October 18!
