I’m reflecting on the progress we’ve made, the goals still ahead, and why greater neighborhood involvement matters. When more of us participate, communicate, and work together, Woodgate becomes stronger, safer, and more connected. We recently spoke to the senior engineer at the City of Carrollton and have an update on the major construction projects that are currently planned for Frankford Road and Hebron Parkway to upgrade the quality of those roads. Median landscaping will be enhanced at the same time. They will be removing and then replacing the current concrete in all lanes and medians, while keeping their current configuration of lanes and medians once the project is completed.

If you've seen a little one cruising around Magnolia Drive on a balance bike, you've probably met the Paty-Lawns family. Haley and Anthony, along with their son George, are proud to call Woodgate home.

With America’s 250th in full swing this year, it’s a meaningful time to show your patriotic spirit while supporting local youth right here in our community. Just take part in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Rotary Club "Flags Over Carrollton" program, and a 3x5-foot American flag will be placed in your yard on seven patriotic holidays throughout the year.

Because last month’s update was packed with information, I wanted to focus this month on a couple of key items and address a question a few of you have asked.

We wanted to make you aware of a recent hit-and-run incident on the 2900 block of Redwood Drive. A minivan parked along the street was sideswiped sometime overnight between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. The incident was reported to Carrollton Police, but at this time there are no known leads or suspects. Thankfully, no one was hurt!

This came up at our Town Hall Meeting, so our neighbor, Cheryl Watkins at 1037 Clinton, looked into it a bit more for us. Sure enough, one showed up on our lawns recently! It comes in that plastic bag and says SAVE.COM on it. If you’ve been wondering how to stop getting them, there is a way to opt out.

I Believe our Greatest Attribute is the Cohesiveness of our Neighborhood. The intent is to be practical and reasonable while also preserving the common expectations tied to our deed restrictions. Continued progress depends on our shared understanding across the neighborhood.

April was one of those months where a lot happened all at once, and there’s more going on behind the scenes than you might think! From neighborhood improvements you’ve probably already noticed, to our Town Hall, upcoming events, and an important potential zoning issue that could directly impact Woodgate. We’re also sharing updates on finances, new sponsorships, and how we’re continuing to protect the character of our neighborhood.

We wanted to give everyone a quick heads up about some extra activity coming to the neighborhood. On Saturday, May 9, our neighbor Melanie Harris on Redwood is participating in the Denton County Master Gardener Association's Annual Garden Tour, which draws visitors from across the area!

If you’ve driven along Frankford lately, you’ve probably noticed the open land just north of Magnolia and along the edge of our neighborhood between us and Sonic. That area, highlighted in green and purple in the image, is facing potential rezoning again. And yes, this is the same area that was brought up for rezoning back in 2022.

Yesterday’s Coffee & Donuts with Great Neighbors turned out great! The weather couldn’t have been better, and somehow the rain held off just long enough for everyone to enjoy it.

Just a reminder that the City of Carrollton’s Water Conservation & Drought Contingency Plan runs now through Saturday, October 31.

Hello, Woodgate Neighbors! It’s a busy time of year and getting busier in the coming weeks. As you can see in this newsletter addition, several things are happening in April...

Our 2026 Woodgate Neighborhood Survey collected 72 responses from actively engaged neighbors, providing insights into neighborhood demographics, membership, priorities, communication preferences, social events, and community concerns.

If you’ve been down in the Lower Magnolia area of Woodgate, you’ve likely seen the Douthit family out and about. Tony and Jordan have lived at 1219 Magnolia Drive with their children Aiden, Eleanor, and Theo since 2020.

On Saturday, March 21, we had a great turnout for our Woodgate Entrances Clean Up. A big thank you to everyone who came out to help weed, trim, and freshen up the Clinton and Birch entrances.
