Street Parking in Woodgate: A Friendly Reminder

Since it was a topic brought up at our August Virtual Town Hall Meeting, we thought it might be helpful to share a quick reminder about the City of Carrollton’s street parking rules and, just as importantly, who to contact when there’s a concern.

Our streets are public streets, which means parking regulations are established and enforced by the City of Carrollton. The WNA and the Architectural Committee do not have the authority to issue citations, require a vehicle to be moved, or otherwise enforce City parking ordinances.
A Few Carrollton Parking Rules to Keep in Mind
Under Carrollton City Code:
Vehicles generally may not remain parked in the same location on a public street for longer than 48 hours.
Vehicles parked on the street must be operable and have current registration and license plates.
Trailers, RVs and other vehicles or equipment that do not operate under their own power generally cannot remain parked on a public street for more than two hours.
Oversized vehicles, including certain tractor-trailers and buses, may only park on public streets during daylight hours.
Head-in parking is not permitted on Cul-de-Sacs.
Vehicles should be parked parallel to the curb and within 12 inches of it.
The 48-hour parking provision applies to motorcycles and non-commercial vehicles weighing less than 10,000 pounds, including trucks up to one ton.
What Should You Do If There’s a Parking Concern?
If you believe a vehicle may be violating City Code, the easiest thing to do is report it directly to the City of Carrollton through its online reporting portal.
