Get to know Ken...
My name is Ken Wray and I have submitted my candidacy for 2nd Vice President of WNA for the 2026-2028 term of office. In May of this year, I volunteered to serve in this position for 2025. Since then, I observed what WNA is today, but more importantly what it’s even greater potential could be in the future. That is the primary reason for my decision to run for the office for one more term. I want to contribute to the growth of WNA via increased membership and value to our neighborhood. I especially would like to see our younger families more involved in the future to help WNA achieve its mission of enhancing Woodgate’s quality of life.
Where do I stand on some of the issues?
I support the current Board’s sincere effort to be responsive to the 2025 survey results of the majority will of responding members; such as holding more social events to build neighborhood relationships. I appreciate the official WNA newsletter being focused on positive presentations of information and people related subjects. I agree with the Board’s support of enforcing Woodgate’s property restrictions in a legal manner, while striving to avoid unnecessary confrontation. Lastly, I believe in a Board governance structure, rather than an unchecked Presidency, representing various member’s interests balanced within our Bylaws that exist to protect the overall membership.
Background
My wife and I are both retired, and have lived on Magnolia for 22 years. I was in the moving and storage industry for 46 years. During that time I purchased my own company, and operated it for 27 years before selling it. I also served on the Board of Directors of a national company with an international footprint. I was Treasurer; Chairman of the Marketing Committee; and retired as Vice Chairman. Previously, I was also active in the Lions and Optimists clubs.
