If you've seen a little one cruising around Magnolia Drive on a balance bike, you've probably met the Paty-Lawns family. Haley and Anthony, along with their son George, are proud to call Woodgate home.

Haley grew up right here in Woodgate after her grandparents, Ernest and Faith Paty, moved into 1042 Magnolia Drive in the early 2000's. Last May, Ernest and Faith passed the torch to Haley and Anthony, officially making them the new caretakers of their family home.
These days, one of their favorite traditions is taking a nightly walk through the neighborhood, with George leading the way on his balance bike. Along the route, they love admiring the landscaping our neighbors have, especially those filled with native Texas plants.
The family has no shortage of interesting hobbies. Haley is an artist, an avid gardener, and something of a weather enthusiast. She volunteers with the National Weather Service as a trained storm spotter and has been fascinated by meteorology for years. That passion is already rubbing off on George, who has developed an early fascination with weather right alongside his love of trains and cars.
Anthony currently works as a programmer on image enhancement software at Topaz Labs, but as a hobby he enjoys creating incremental games and tools that help people think, organize, and journal. Before that, he also taught coding to kids, introducing many of them to programming through Minecraft mods.
Haley also credits her grandparents with introducing her to bird watching at a young age. Today, she still enjoys spotting the many birds throughout our subdivision, making every neighborhood walk a little adventure.
When they're not at home, Haley and Anthony enjoy supporting local favorites. Marshall's Bar-B-Q has been a family tradition for decades and even catered their wedding! They were also among the first customers at Sushi Kadan and love exploring the live music scene throughout Deep Ellum and downtown Dallas. Closer to home, they're regulars at Carrollton's community events, especially the annual Earth Day celebration and the Festival at the Switchyard.
Their loving home is also shared by three unforgettable cats: Princess Luna, a beautiful calico Turkish Angora, is the dignified eldest. Anarchy, affectionately known as Banana, is an all-black doll-faced Persian with an abundance of fluffy fur and plenty of personality. Then there's Acorn, a one-eyed tortoiseshell who rarely lets Haley out of sight.
For the Paty-Lawns family, Woodgate is more than just a neighborhood. It's a place filled with family history, nightly adventures and a community they're excited to continue calling home for years to come.
