A Reminder to Stay Alert

By now you may have heard about the burglary that took place in our neighborhood this past Friday morning. What we know is that the Ladhani's home at 2920 Cambridgeshire was broken into while they were away. Carrollton Police responded and were on the scene investigating. Sadly, several of the their belongings were stolen.

While the investigation is ongoing, this serves as an important reminder for all of us: the best way to protect our neighborhood is by staying vigilant and looking out for one another.

Here are a few practical steps we can all take:

• Lights on for safety: Keeping porch, backyard, and alleyway lights on makes our neighborhood less inviting for crime.

  
  

• Check back gates, doors and windows: A quick double-check before bedtime can prevent easy access, especially back yard fence gates.

  
  

• Use security cameras or doorbell cameras: These not only protect your home but can help Carrollton Police if an incident occurs.

  
  

• Report suspicious activity immediately: Cars circling, people lingering near alleys or unusual noises (when in doubt, call the Carrollton Police).

  
  

• Be a good neighbor: If you know someone is away, keep an eye on their property and help with small things like mail or packages.
