April President's Update

Woodgate in Motion: Events, Updates & Thanks

Rick Wood
Rick Wood, WNA President

Hello, Woodgate Neighbors! It’s a busy time of year and getting busier in the coming weeks. As you can see in this update, several things are happening in April...

Rise & Shine!

Join us for our Coffee, Donuts & Great Neighbors on Saturday, April 11, from 9:00AM to 10:30AM on the Lower Magnolia Cul-de-Sac. Even if you can only make it for few minutes come by and say hello and grab a bite and a sip. Your neighbors and most board members will be there.

Entrances Planting

We’re looking for volunteers to help with planting at our Clinton and Birch entrances on Saturday, April 18 at 9AM. Please RSVP by Friday, April 17.

Spring Town Hall Meeting

A Town Hall Meeting is planned for Saturday, April 25, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at the Kent Elementary School Cafeteria. We'll provide updates on membership, city government, budget, and plans for the year. These meetings will provide a good opportunity to ask questions and have further input on Board and committee activities. All Woodgate residents are welcome!

Survey Results

The results of the 2026 Woodgate Survey are now available. I want to thank everyone who participated and provided their feedback. I know that I, and the other Board members, take the input seriously.

One note concerning the survey: There were a few comments mentioning the Board should reach out to individuals personally to seek their involvement. I know some of us are doing that and will continue too. But help us out! If you might be interested in helping in some way, send a message to the address below. It doesn’t commit you to anything but does give us a chance to talk.

The Board members have heard me say several times that our mantra should be: “pleasant but persistent,” but we will try not to wear out our welcome. You can reach me by sending an email to: president@woodgateneighbors.com.  The other officers can also be reached by their title @woodgateneighbors.com.

WNA Membership & Dues About 10 days ago, we sent out the second dues request to those who haven't paid yet. Please, consider helping the neighborhood you live in by paying your dues. Increased membership allows us to fund essential needs such as neighborhood communications, insurance, water and beautification efforts at our entrances as well as events that are fun and help further bond neighbors.

This bonding can also directly lead to more neighbor-to-neighbor communication making the neighborhood safer. And dues are still only $75 for the year.

Refreshing Our Entrances

Finally, a big thanks to all that helped pull the weeds, till the soil and raked and prepared the beds last Saturday at both our Clinton and Birch entrances. Their smiling, or in few cases grimacing faces, were featured on our Facebook Group and our website.

I do want to thank Suzette Foster. She worked right along with everyone, but our photographer failed to get her in the pictures! Geez…good help is hard to find…but that photographer is now on probation. 😊 Am I too tough on myself…?

The good news is the landscape beds at our entrances are ready for planting, the water is flowing and good things are just around the corner!

Stay classy Woodgate!
