Happy Holidays! In this season of reflection on our blessings, enjoying family gatherings, and celebrations, let me say how thankful I am for our lovely neighborhood and, most importantly, the wonderful people that fill it.
Woodgate is first and foremost known as a friendly, caring neighborhood. Our connection as a community makes us stronger and enables us collectively to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of one another as our neighborhood partners with the city to continue to make Woodgate and Carrollton a great place to live!
Here are some of the things your WNA Board has been doing over the past month:
Planning Holiday in the Park: Join us for Holiday in the Park on Sunday, December 15th from 2PM to 4PM at the Harold K Bessire Park at 1117 Dentonshire Drive. Join us sharing your favorite holiday cookies, a Bounce House, photos with Santa, and cornhole! Meet friends and neighbors from surrounding neighborhoods (including Nottingham Estates, Cambridge Estates and Sumner Oaks) and share in the holiday spirit! We'll also help our larger community via canned food donation for Metrocrest Services! Be sure to RSVP today!
Updated Documents
Our updated Property Owners Association Management Certificate, along with the newly adopted Bylaws, the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, & Restrictions (fondly known as the CC&R), and a clear copy of the Incorporation documents have all been filed with Denton County and the Texas Real Estate Commission.
Refreshed Website & Social ChannelsÂ
Take a look around our newly refreshed website, along with our new Official Private Facebook Group where you can get official WNA Board updates, neighborhood news, ask questions, share neighborhood concerns, and more! All residents of Woodgate are encouraged to join.
WNA Registered with the City of Carrollton
We're once again registered with the City of Carrollton, which will help us receive reduced rates for public meeting spaces and ensure we're getting all the latest information from the city pertaining to our neighborhood. We want to maintain our good relationship with the city and continue to partner with them on matters of health, welfare, and safety.
Transitioning to our new 2025 WNA Board
Your current WNA Board has already been working with the new 2025 WNA Board to ensure a smooth transition. Be watching for a Neighborhood Survey for residents coming early in the new year.
WNA 2025 Dues Notice Notices regarding WNA Membership will be sent out in December. Your membership helps us be a strong voice when working with the City of Carrollton, allows you to actively participate on committees, vote on neighborhood matters, and enjoy Woodgate community events held throughout the year.
Getting Involved in Your Neighborhood
Speaking of participation: begin thinking about ways you might like to engage with your neighborhood in 2025. We have multiple ways for you to get involved. Here are just a few of the Committees you might be interested in joining:
Â
Beautification: all things having to do with our entrances, from plants to decoration for major holidays
Events: Plans various gatherings held throughout the year.Â
Neighborhood Watch: Meets to share crime updates, safety issues, and keep neighbors up-to-date.
Government: Attends various city meetings, including those for registered neighborhoods keeping us updated on programs for everything from sidewalk repairs to zoning changes.
Â
Finally, from all of us at the WNA Board, we'd like to wish you and your family Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Sarah Eaton
Acting President
