Say hello to the Crumb family at 1026 Staffordshire Drive! Jake and Mallory Crumb, along with their daughters Charley and Caitlyn, have called Woodgate home for the past nine years.

For Jake, living here feels a bit like coming full circle. He grew up nearby in Nottingham Estates and always remembered this area as a safe, welcoming place. Today, he’s proud that his daughters are growing up in the same kind of neighborhood where he spent his own childhood. Both he and Mallory are graduates of CFBISD, and their girls are now attending Kent Elementary...the very school Jake went to as a kid!
The Crumbs love making the most of their time together. Whether they’re traveling, cooking, or playing in the backyard, family time is always a priority. They’re also an active bunch, enjoying hikes, disc golf, and (more recently) pickleball! It is a new hobby that quickly won them over.
One of Jake’s favorite pastimes is baking sourdough bread each week. It’s become a bit of a neighborhood favorite, and he’s always happy to share a loaf with anyone who gives him a couple of days’ notice.
When they’re not at home, you can often find the Crumbs enjoying a meal at one of their local favorites: Chili Thai, El Rincon, Bavarian Grill, or Jorg’s Café Vienna. They also love spending time at The Truckyard in The Colony or even Three Nations Brewery, where they can relax with good food, live music and space for the kids to play.
Like many of us, they’re loyal fans of Dallas sports teams, although (as Jake likes to joke) those teams sometimes test their patience.
The Crumb household is definitely full of life, thanks in part to their pets. Mia, their 11-year-old dog, keeps a watchful eye on anything that moves past the house but greets friends with nothing but sweetness. They also have three backyard chickens! There is Nanna Mary and Beverly, both Blue Laced Golden Wyandottes, and Sunny, a Chocolate Orpington known for her great personality and reliable egg laying.
The family also enjoys their walks around Woodgate, especially in the crisp fall weather. For them, this neighborhood isn’t just where they live...it’s home. A place where familiar faces, friendly waves and the sound of kids playing make every day a little brighter.
