Meet Your Neighbors: Lu Ann Blough

Say hello to our longtime neighbor Lu Ann Blough of 2922 Cambridgeshire Drive! Lu Ann moved into Woodgate in 1988 and raised her three sons: Matt, Daniel, and David. Today, with their wives Bailey, Kascie, and Melissa part of the family, Lu Ann is happily enjoying life as a grandmother to five grandchildren!

In her spare time, Lu Ann loves to stay active through dancing, walking, and playing the piano. She also has a fascinating chapter in her story. During the late 1970's and early 1980's, she lived in London, England, where she worked at Lloyd’s of London! These days, you might catch her locally enjoying her favorite restaurants: Mena’s Mexican Grill in Carrollton or Mack’s in Grapevine. Always by her side is Moses, her 12-year-old Australian Shepherd (and her third Aussie). Gentle, loyal, and incredibly smart, Moses is her constant and cherished companion.

Lu Ann is also the heart behind the newly formed Woodgate Cares Committee, which she recently founded and now chairs. The group connects volunteers with neighbors who could use a little temporary help, whether it’s planting flowers, delivering a meal to someone recovering from surgery or welcoming a new baby, running errands, or even changing a hard-to-reach light bulb. It’s all about being neighborly and showing up when life gets a little tough.

Lu Ann embodies the very best of Woodgate with her love for family, passion for community, and generous heart. Next time you see her out walking the neighborhood, be sure to say hello and thank her for making Woodgate not just a neighborhood, but a true community.
