Storm Damage in Woodgate

Writer: Woodgate NeighborsWoodgate Neighbors

Early Tuesday morning, March 4, strong winds gusting up to 70 mph wreaked havoc across our subdivision. Numerous trees were shattered, limbs fallen or even snapped in half, blocking streets and damaging property. One of the most alarming incidents occurred on Redwood, where a tree came crashing down, puncturing the windshield and dashboard of a parked car. We also have a street sign down at Magnolia and Redwood. As you can see from the storm photos below, we'll be cleaning up lots of debris this week. We're still waiting to hear how bulk trash pick-up will work as well. Storm Damage Photos

Power Outages Additionally, the severe storm also knocked out power across the area. ONCOR crews are currently working to restore electricity, but with power lines and transformers down, especially along Dickerson and Frankford, there's no clear timeline for when service will be fully restored. For those seeking real-time information on power outages, ONCOR has advised residents to text "OUT" to 66267 for updates.

In the meantime, the neighbors are helping neighbors in the clean up process. Check our Facebook Group for any updates of neighbors needing help, or any updates.
