April President's Update

Hello, Woodgate! I'd like to start by thanking all those who attended the "Morning Brew with the Blue" in March over in the Lower Magnolia cul-de-sac. We had 30-40 homeowners in attendance throughout the event and although the Carrollton Police Department couldn’t come because of a training class commitment, it was a great time to meet and greet and have great conversations about Woodgate.

The consensus of everyone I spoke with was wanting to see more of these get-togethers and we plan to do just that! More neighborhood social events will happen throughout the year, and we will be rotating locations throughout the neighborhood. I hope to see more residents attend in the future!

A couple of events are set, and we want to get the word out quickly!

• Sunday, May 4: WNA will have a Cinco de Mayo themed social in the Staffordshire cul-de-sac.

• Saturday, June 21: an Ice Cream social will take place in the Upper Magnolia cul-de-sac.

As always, we're looking for more residents to get involved and help plan these events. Let myself or any other Board member if you would like to help out.

Survey Results

The results are in! They have been posted to both the April Newsletter, WNA Website and the Woodgate Facebook Group page. Your voices have been heard! I hope everyone gets a chance to check them out. Below are a few items on a consensus of things residents want to see. These items are being put into action:

• Meet Your Neighbors Events (2 Events Planned, more to come)

• Awarding The Yard of the Month is coming back! (One Revision-no longer required to be dues paying member for the award)

• Improve Email and Outreach for those who do not use social media.

• Make Committee Opportunities visible with a signup sheet.

• Continue to engage with City of Carrollton on STR related issues as they arise.

• Low effort, high impact meet ups.

• Hire a landscaping company to maintain the entrances. (we're currently getting estimates/quotes to start service before the summer)

Zoom Meeting

We'll be having a WNA Zoom Meeting to discuss survey results and the budget for this year. The date and time for this Zoom Meeting has not been finalized but I am hoping to get that information posted within a week with plenty of time to plan to attend.

Lastly, in further effort for continued and complete transparency, we've posted the current Budget and P&L for this year in the Membership section of our website.

I hope everyone has a great Spring and I hope to see more residents at future events. We have a committee sign up sheet on the website. The more people participating, the better!
