Summer vibes are in the air and we have quite a bit going on in Woodgate! I'd like to first introduce some new members filling roles within WNA. I want to welcome Susan Michell as our new Treasurer. She is currently enjoying retirement and her background and expertise as an accountant make her perfect for the position. Thank you for volunteering for this key role Susan!
As many of you have read here on our WNA website or WNA Facebook Group page, Ken Wray and Rick Wood have also filled two key positions:
Ken Wray, a resident of Woodgate for 22 years, was confirmed to fill the role of our 2nd Vice President, a new position was voted on at the October 2024 WNA Meeting. Ken has been involved in many aspects with Woodgate, most recently with the Bylaws committee last year.
Rick Wood, a resident of Woodgate for 35 years, is our new Government Relations Chairman and Liaison. He too has volunteered in many roles with Woodgate throughout the years, most recently on the Bylaw’s Committee in 2024.
Both Ken and Rick’s experience and knowledge of Woodgate make them real assets to WNA! Welcome to the team!
Yard of the Month
I'd like to congratulate Scott and Sue Cherry at 2921 Redwood on being selected as our June Yard of the Month! There are so many yards that look great, it is hard to pick just one.
Zoom Meeting Follow Ups I want to follow up on a couple of topics that were discussed during this month’s Zoom call:
Legal Fee Balance: Woodgate supposedly owed money to the law firm that was used during 2023/2024 for Bylaws and CC&R clarification. There was a balance in question of $1,500.00, which I emailed back to the members concerned that we would pay (if due for services rendered). With that being said, I called the firm this past week and they CONFIRMED, WNA owes $0 and we have a zero balance on account! This amount was on record as still being owed, but it was incorrect and has since been removed. Being able to save WNA money is always a good thing!
New Neighborhood Directory: The other topic discussed on this month’s Zoom call was establishing a new neighborhood directory. We're proceeding with a cost-effective way to put it together. Realizing that some residents do not want their information published or distributed, we'll be publishing only those who opt-in and give that information to us. For those residents that want to participate (opt-in), online signups have been posted here on the WNA website and our WNA Facebook Group. Realizing that some of our residents don't follow our resources online, we've started distributed flyers throughout the neighborhood at each door. We have a couple of streets left but will have all the streets completed and distributed by the end of this week. The deadline for signing up to be included in our new Directory is June 30th.
Fiesta Memories!
I would like to thank all those who participated in our Cinco-De-Mayo get together on Staffordshire on Sunday, May 4th. We had 30-40 members throughout the afternoon, and it was enjoyed by all. The food and decorations were great, thank you to all of those who helped set up and take down as well!
Ice Cream Social on Sunday, June 22
I want to remind everyone; we're having an Ice Cream Social on Sunday, June 22nd at 7pm on the Lower Magnolia cul-de-sac. You'll see reminders around the neighborhood and if you're interested in helping with this event, please let me know. The more people involved the better! It will be a great time.
As always, if you have any questions or would like to help out in any aspect of WNA, please me know.
I hope everyone has a great June!
Sean
