It’s hard to believe it’s already November! Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it. One thing is for sure, October was definitely a busy month in Woodgate!
I want to start by thanking everyone who attended National Night Out on October 7. Big thanks to everyone who brought food and helped set up/break down the event. We had a great turnout with 50-60 in attendance, and it was fun for all! We're also really looking forward to our upcoming Fall Festival & Potluck on November 15!
Annual WNA Meeting Recap The WNA Annual Meeting was held on October 18th. Year-end business and committee
updates were given, followed by the election of officers. I want to thank everyone who ran for a position this year. There were multiple candidates for every position and just goes to show how much everyone cares about Woodgate. A special thank you to Al Snidecki, Linda Hudson, and Susan Michell for undertaking the important task of tallying the election.
These are the newly elected WNA Board Members for the 2026-2027 term. They will assume their roles beginning January 1, 2026:
Rick Wood: President
Gary Gunter: Vice President
Ken Wray: 2nd Vice President
Deb Moss: Secretary
Greg Horowitz: Treasurer
Holiday in the Park A major point of contention surrounded the Holiday at the Park celebration last year at Bessire Park. As promised at the Town Hall meeting in August, I wanted the WNA members to decide where we'll have the Christmas Holiday Party for Woodgate this year.
It was voted on at the Annual Meeting and the membership chose to have the Holiday in the Park again. It will take place on Sunday, December 14th. We'll be hosting the event in conjunction with Nottingham Estates and Cambridge Estates. The cost to have the event will also be split between all the neighborhoods. With that being said, I also want to give a BIG thank you to Cambridgeshire homeowner, Ross Lehman. Ross recently donated $500 towards the Christmas Party. It will cover almost all (if not all) of WNA’s portion of the party expense. Thank you for your generous support, Ross!
Printed Neighborhood Directory Lastly, the printed and bound Woodgate Neighborhood Directory was distributed at the Annual Meeting. Any of the 277 households remaining in Woodgate that weren’t at the meeting will have theirs delivered. If you haven't received yours yet, please let us know and we'll be sure you receive it.
Fall Festival & Potluck is Coming Soon!
I want to remind everyone that The Fall Festival Potluck will take place on Saturday, November 15th in the Maple Court Cul-de-sac. We'll also be collecting canned goods for Metro
Crest Services. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
As always, we're always looking for volunteers to help with our events, there is link on the website to RSVP and/or volunteer for either event.
Safety Reminder for the Holidays
A quick safety reminder as we approach the Holidays. With many homeowners traveling
out of town, remember to always lock your doors, lock your back gates, leave your porch lights on, and let your fellow neighbors know you'll be away. They can help keep any eye out on your property while you are gone. We all must stay diligent, as thefts typically increase around the holiday season.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me or any other Board member.
Thank you,
Sean
