On September 23, the Carrollton City Council heard from criminologist Dr. Bell Carmen. He has consulted with more than 120 police departments and has been hired by the Carrollton City Attorney as a consultant.

Meet longtime Woodgate neighbors Ken and Shirley Wray of 1017 Magnolia Drive! With 22 years in Woodgate, a lively family of kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids, plus their poodle Kera running the show, the Wrays know how to keep life full of fun and joy.

We’re now seeking candidates for leadership roles in the Woodgate Neighborhood Association (WNA)! The election of the new Board will be held on Saturday, October 18 during our Annual Meeting.

By now you may have heard about the burglary that took place on Cambridgeshire this past Friday morning. While the investigation is ongoing, this serves as an important reminder for all of us: the best way to protect our neighborhood is by staying vigilant and looking out for one another.

We appreciate the opportunity to communicate openly with all of you because transparency and trust are priorities for the WNA Board. Yesterday, Dave Waters shared a post on his personal Woodgate FB Group and his personal newsletter about the WNA Board. His false and misleading statements have caused confusion among neighbors, and since many of you have reached out to us about this, we feel it’s important to respond directly and openly.

It’s been a busy season in Woodgate, and there’s a lot to catch up on! From the recent Town Hall Meeting to exciting news about upcoming events like National Night Out, the Annual Meeting & Elections, and the return of the Fall Festival, there’s plenty happening in our neighborhood.

The Carrollton Planning and Zoning Department will meet with the City Council in a work session on September 23 to discuss potential policies regarding short-term rentals and bed-and-breakfast properties.

Say hello to our longtime neighbor Lu Ann Blough of 2922 Cambridgeshire Drive! Lu Ann moved into Woodgate in 1988 and raised her three sons: Matt, Daniel, and David. Today, with their wives Bailey, Kascie, and Melissa part of the family, Lu Ann is happily enjoying life as a grandmother to five grandchildren!

There was a recent article in the Dallas Morning News, on July 29th, discussing the legal landscape for Short Term Rentals (STR's). The hard news in the article was that the 5th District Appeals Court had once again upheld a temporary injunction blocking the City of Dallas from enforcing its ban on short term rentals in residential neighborhoods.
